Yoga & the Transformative Power of Sound/Mantra (Bank Holiday Weekend)

Mantras exercise our mental energy and give it poise and stability just as asanas improve our physical condition. Most importantly, mantras harmonise the mental field, drawing our consciousness into a state of stillness that is inspirational.

About The Event

I am sure we are all familiar with or may have experienced the great benefits that the practise of yoga postues ( asanas ), breathing exercises ( pranayama ) and meditation brings. However, few of us have experienced the transformative power of mantras and the chanting of Sanskrit sounds/words.

Perhaps the easiest way for us to understand mantra is a kind of asana for the mind. Mantras provide focus, strength, plasticity and adaptability to the mind just as asanas

( postures ) do for the body. Mantras exercise our mental energy and give it poise and stability just as asanas improve our physical condition. Most importantly, mantras harmonise the mental field, drawing our consciousness into a state of stillness that is inspirational.

During the retreat we will have our regular daily yoga and meditation sessions and also one workshop a day on mantra practise with lots of practise of mantra chanting .
